Our mission, Vision, Story & Leaders
We Matter was founded by Vas J Morgan in 2020 in response to the death of George Floyd, with a mission to provide free mental health support to Black communities. Understanding the deep-rooted struggles of racial trauma and systemic neglect, the initiative was created to ensure that those in need have access to the resources, care, and conversations that can change lives.
Recognizing the disproportionate mental health challenges faced by marginalized groups, We Matter has since expanded its mission to serve Black and Brown communities and the LGBTQIA+ community, both of whom often experience higher risks of mental health struggles, yet face limited access to care and resources.
We Matter operates as a fund, raising money through fundraisers, partnerships, and advocacy and directing those funds to charities and initiatives that align with our mission. we help bridge the gap between those in need and the resources that can truly make a difference. We are not just about awareness, we are about action, impact, and change.
At its core, We Matter is a platform for empowerment, advocacy, and open dialogue, ensuring that young minds have a safe, supportive space to talk, engage, and connect without fear of judgment.
